Is anyone worried about layoffs?
Anyone hearing noise about layoffs?
I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.
December layoffs anywhere?

Take a deep breath.
Yes, your life maybe revolving around work. But work is not everything.
Fear of getting laid off.. Say f*ck it.. Bring it on.
EY is not the only firm. Or the only place to work. Ton of opportunities out there. Don't take it too hard on yourself. Take one day at a time.
Take a break from work if that helps.
Good luck to you. We are all here for u... Feel free to chip in with whatever assistance u need.

You’re so nice. Thank you 🤗
This is very relatable. I found consulting work anxiety inducing at the best of times.
It sounds like you should focus less on work and more on developing a life you can feel about. I know when I’m down with work I think about my family and friends who care about me. We all mess up at work or aren’t performing at our peak, it’s the other parts of your life that puts work into perspective.
I start my day with 30 minutes to myself. I sit outside, drink a long espresso and do a guided meditation by chopra for 15 minutes. I look forward to the morning and it gets me in a good headspace. Once I plug in to work for the day, it does not stop. This has helped me cope with the new WFH reality.
Bank what you can. Get job offers. That’s the way 🙌
Honestly you’re not alone
Yesterday I had a partner email me saying in the subject line please call me
I panicked for hours and eventually when we connected it was just to be pulled into a client. I definitely said I was panicking and they had no idea that’s how it made me feel 😂 turned out to be good news but I’d say as long as no one directly tells you you’re fired you’ll be alright!
Hang in there and start focusing on yourself! The first month or so was extremely difficult for the WFH situation but then I started focusing on myself and things I could do to refresh and take a break from work thoughts. Started going for bike rides (gives me fresh air) and then cooking dinner meals at home (experiments and cravings).
If I can do this -someone who hasn’t cooked a meal in 3 years and hasn’t worked out in who knows how long; I am sure you can as well. Pick things that will bring you joy and allow you to think about non-work things.
