Lol you’re fine man/woman... 2/3 of the radiation exposure you get a year is from the ground and that is minimal anyway. Statistically insignificant when you look at the potential additional # of cases of developing lung cancer per 10000 is between 1,2,3 and above 4 pci/l
Thank you for your replies, hopefully I will find same levels once I move in. Have a good weekend.
My expectation after the system is being put for mitigation to bring the level come down to <0.5 ~ very similar to what is outside the house in yard/playground. Appreciate thoughts from anyone who has dealt with the radon issue and mitigation system.
If I remember right, below 1.75 is fine. Just don’t take deep breaths. It was always of minimal concern for me (house built in the late 50s) because I spent minimal time in the basement. As long as the meter isn’t zeroed out and staying below 1.75, you are fine.
I looked up studies on radon when we bought our house and found that there is little evidence supporting the EPA rating. Canada’s recommendation is something like 10x higher. Look at the research and decide for yourself what you’re comfortable with!
