How does one figure out if they should be audit or tax or quit PA? I work about 50/50 between audit and tax and cannot decide. I’m currently hating tax and see it not setting me up well for leaving PA

Tax senior with CPA at small firm. Best way to get to Big 4 audit? (LA or OC) Went to non-target so little to no alumni at B4. I don’t mind the switch to a lower title since audit was always my preference and was never a fan of tax (stayed local for family).

Currently in IT audit, want to get into consulting. Worth it to wait until senior? Biased since I want to get out, but I feel the skills aren’t transferable and don’t want to be pigeonholed into risk
