Staying at the Ritz and STR in the Maldives so expecting good service and reading mixed things about tipping. I usually don’t tip much at hotels (never really thought about it) but what do people do? Is there an expectation and would the amount be based on like room rate or just a flat daily per day?

If so, wondering what your recommendations are and or if there are new cards out there I haven't heard of yet.
