Directors aren’t getting $400k. And with nine yrs Director maybe a stretch tbh. All the other directors I work with are around 15yrs and the youngest one is about 13yrs exp.
not saying you can’t land it…but it maybe a challenge
I’ve been looking at tech analytics (pre ipo or recent ipo, not faang) and it’s usually around $175k-200k in base for mcol. Haven’t seen stock comp yet but I’m guessing 75k-100k/year would be about right. 400 seems way too high
I’m wondering if it’s too early to get involved with Executive search firms

Title director
Voila - take a look at their previous title.
From what I saw....only managing director were getting hired as director and even then only rarely.
From my experience at google ...we almost never hire consultants as director. The few that we have tried were people with 25+ years in consulting and we're usually senior partners. Ie. The north American lead for retail, or global lead for something else.
I do that, hence the framing of the question around comp. I saw some google cloud VP was a SMD

What'd you exit out to a Director/ sr Director role?

I think 400k is a difficult ask. Especially for someone that doesn't already have a proven track record in industry.
