Every small firm relies on entrepreneurial SMs to sell work and become partners. As does every large Firm!
Agree! Just interested in how much of the Slalom career path is find your own trail vs. sell/deliver within your (defined) lane.
Does slalom even have partners?
It’s as entrepreneurial as you want to make it. We’re a relatively flat organization, but senior leaders have revenue targets, and creating new offerings (among other things) are counted towards reviews, bonuses and promotions. There’s also very little politics and few red tapes here compared to other big consulting firms — but there is also significant variability in culture, size and specialty based on geo. I’m in a mid size market in the Midwest and it’s very entrepreneurial here. Also, there are many colleagues here who’ve started their own companies in the past or currently have non-competing side gigs.
Super entrepreneurial but with a degree of support (depending on office size/culture) to enable you to be successful. Mid size firms are what you make them.
Makes sense, thanks for the perspective!
Op, gotta create your own path and future. Not a lot of support. Very flat.
