What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

I got offer letter from mastercard with joining date as 14 nov and my LWD is 23 nov.. So i informed HR and they agreed that revised joining date will be provided as per LWD screenshot from current organization.

Now I have done follow up multiple time and they are saying they will do it and keep trust on them but not providing ETA.

I like where I work, but have realized that I don't necessarily enjoy tax. I want to keep my options open and feel that tax doesn't necessarily give me the capacity to explore opportunities besides tax due to the fact that is it such specialized knowledge. Does anyone have any stories/ideas about moving to consulting or finance? Or is one preferred over the other?
