Feeling despondent
Disappointed, but not surprised. White supremacy is a cornerstone of this country. White people will ALWAYS put that first...even when it hurts them. Unfortunately, many "POC" will buy into it as well, if they think their proximity will protect them. Black people are unique in that we were brought here, & we KNOW they've NEVER protected us, no matter what. We continuously resist, which is why we are always the 1st minority to try. It's why all other minorities expect us to have y'alls backs.
Well, we are tired.

A2: I'll assume you're not trolling and are genuinely asking. Proximity to whiteness in this context can mean either white presenting, or alignment with white supremacist thinking. I know for some people it's difficult to believe that people of color can also have biases against other people of color. It's quite common. There are a lot of Puerto Ricans on the mainland that do believe that Puerto Rico is a garbage country which is why they're here. There are a lot of Latinx who hate illegal immigration, even if they themselves immigrated here illegally.
Some of these people of color believe that if they align themselves with the party that supports these ideals, they'll be spared. It won't matter that they are not white or white presenting, because they agree with the majority party, so they will not be subjected to the same fate. However, Trump's previous presidency illustrated that that is false.
Unfortunately, seems like a lot of folks got to touch the stove to know it's hot.
