Anyone out there gone for a JD/MBA over an MBA? Did you get higher salary upon returning (over MBA candidates) or does the firm see it as a useless and trivial pursuit?

What is middle/back office at a hedge fund like? Specifically roles that are supporting portfolio managers? I’ve been trying to move to PE Ops and came across a promising HF opportunity, so I’m looking for more insights into those projects and type of work.

I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.

I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?

Any thoughts?

What does comp look like for PE ops associates?

Is working in VC Ops for a T10 Series A fund a good opportunity? This would be an internship preMba. I’m making a career shift as a vet and looking to land a VC investor role post b school (ideally HS) Anecdotally I understand seed and series A VC is very network based so this would be a chance to meet great folks, but ultimately not the investing experience I’m hoping for. Other internship options include start-up or consulting.
