One of the worst hires we've made was a Jd/Mba,
Don't do consulting if you get a JD MBA. Practice first and then come into consulting.
Most of the ppl in my MBA that did both ended up just going business after graduating anyway.
I pretty much don't even bother to look at resumes if it becomes apparent that the person is just getting a degree for the same of degrees. There is no point in having a JD to get into consulting. you're just gonna set yourself up to be behind others your age and it doesn't improve your chances of a consulting job

EY1 very big sample size you have there.
Hated it. Not worth it, and I spent five fucking years in school.
Agreed, no point getting a JD unless you're planning to practice law. It's not leveraged in consulting, same salaries as the MBA grads, and law school is much more work than bschool.

@ey1: why?
A1 where did you go?
If you like school that much just get your MD
Any JDs, MBA or Joint, that didn't then study for and pass the bar don't hold much weight in many places and also if you don't go into the practice don't help much in consulting unless you are in house counsel support
Yea, I met a guy who said he majored in pre law, wtf, asked how long he's been practicing and he said he didn't go to law school, fucking moron
PWC1, I went to Emory. Thankfully, I had some help and the GI bill, so I don't have much debt.
For the sake of degrees *
