If you’ve accrued the time, take it. The idea that you owe them back a certain amount of time before you can be “off” again is part of the problem we have with treating mat leave like it’s PTO.
I took a few days off for a wedding a month into my return and was feeling unsure too, an older coworker who was also a mom but of older kids basically shook me and was like “you weren’t on vacation. You still need one!”

Agree, don’t think it matters. There are times you will need to take off for appointments, sick kids, etc. so shouldn’t matter. Maternity leave isn’t like it is a vacation anyway, two totally different time off requests.
