Either way, the answer is probably every waking minute from now until your interview if you’re trying to go from KPMG to BCG
Sounds rough but honestly true. It’s tough especially if you haven’t done strategy projects (e.g., you got a problem, have a hypothesis, research/interview, iterate, recommendation)
The right answer is until you feel confident in your ability to run through the process every time without becoming bored and mechanical as you do it. For me it was about 2 months (if memory serves) of practice meeting 1-2 times a week with a group of about 4 smart people. Definitely have to practice out loud with a partner (ideally someone who is going through or has gone through process before successfully, but not necessary.). That partner should be smart enough to give you honest and direct feedback to help you improve.
3 months. Read 3 books, probably 30 practices cases on my own, 12 practice cases with someone

Find some basic math exercises and practice them. If you’re solid on your numbers, your brain can think about the more important stuff
