How long shall I leave it after the first interview before following up?
It’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything but felt the interview went really well

A week is my rule of thumb. Send the followup email. There's nothing wrong with asking for clarification. Hope you get good news.

Okay perfect I’ll do that now

I usually do a follow up a week after and make sure to mention something good I recall from the interview/about the company

Okay amazing thank you I’ll do that now!

I always give it a week and if I haven't heard back, I reach out to touch base. If you still don't hear anything, I wait another week and then try to follow up again. If you don't hear back after that, I would move on.

Did they provide any guidance? I generally think one week is enough time.

Never, if they want you they’d come to you.

won’t help

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)
