I was in a similar position in November and decided to pursue contract and freelance opportunities in addition to applying to ft roles. I found the contract roles much faster since they don’t waste time looking at whether you’ll be a good culture fit or asking you about your passion for the company. They just check that your skills match and send you right through the interview/hiring process. Highly recommend if you’re in a crunch. You got this!
Arent contract opportunities usually just bundled with the permanent jobs in job boards anyways? I mean i apply to both.
Also, I dont know how profitable i can be doing freelance, but the risk is that the income isnt stable and ill be losing Employment insurance if i start doing freelance
It is rare. Market is not favoring the fresh out of school kids but with 3+ yoe it shouldn’t be hard at all
Depends on your work that’s showcased. Website? Google yourself.
Experience is based on who you worked with and what you did. If you can show this in a strategic way, I think your chances might improve.
Also use LinkedIn. Great for contracts and long-term. Be the go-to person for a specific skill set.
There’s no typical, no matter how good your portfolio or years of experience. It’s all supply & demand. Currently demand is low for labor across the board.
