It is a lot harder to build relationships remotely.
I find that saving everybody as much time as possible is one of the best way to build relationships remotely, which is a bit unintuitive, but there’s a reason McDonald’s does so well, and it’s not because they offer the best service.
Also McDonalds is really good at being consistenly mediocre. Or said differently they are really good at not sucking.
Also a good lesson for consulting
I travel about once a month, but its a mix of visiting the client or co locating with my team
that seems like a well balanced amount. do you find that helps reap benefits of intentional in person interaction without disrupting personal routines too much?
Once or twice a month. Clients usually want us to be there in person.
