Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte

I barely feel like I have enough time to feed them much less eat myself.
My kids are back in camp daycare, but when they were home I didn’t do it a lot. I tried to focus more on dinner, which happened rarely before the pandemic.
I block 12-1:30 everyday to have lunch/put my 3 year old down for her nap. Granted she’s 3 and needs supervision so it’s a little bit of a requirement since she can’t fend for herself, but it’s my favorite time of the day. My husband usually works through lunch and it bums me out on how much he’s missing as a result because we have the best conversations and I’ve realized how funny she’s gotten. I also block out 6-8 for dinner and I’m usually working late once she’s down. It sucks to have these long days, but for me it’s worth it to have these moments with her right now.
There are days my meetings run into lunch and I don’t realize it, when I finally stand up to make my daughter lunch I find multiple empty yogurt containers, at least four empty bags of fruit snacks and 2-3 empty fruit bar wrappers in the play area.
Those days I’m devastated bc she was ready to eat lunch and didn’t tell me and I wasn’t aware enough of the time.
Other days we make lunch together and eat together.
All of this is hard and don’t think there’s a normal to any of it
I see my kids the same, sometimes less now than before Covid even though I’m no longer commuting 3 hours a day. We were planning to hire 3 people on my team before this happened. I occasionally have lunch with them if my spouse makes me lunch and I don’t have a meeting over the lunch hour.
i try to see my daughter every day from 12 to 1245 or a little after pending meetings. it’s nice to reek it up and it gives my mom a break too
When the video meetings finally stop for long enough for me to stop for food I find I’m so burned out that I just want a break. When my kids are home it’s immediately “mom! Mom! Mom!” So it is tough, I chat with them for a little while and then try to zone out for a little bit before I have to go back to work.
Mine are 9 and 14. Since their lunch breaks don’t align and I’m working through mine, we’ve prioritized dinner together over lunch. As terrible as it sounds, even their lunches are becoming a bit of work while you eat due to homework they want to knock out then vs. later. Pretty sure they’re picking this awful work habit from me but it is what it is! So far, it’s worked out better for us.
