How much did you have saved up before making to jump to solo? Or if you struggled, how much would you recommend having saved?

If you’re taking cases with you from your former employer, I would say you could go solo with about $15K saved up. If you don’t have any cases, I would say you need to be above $50K.

Agreed. Consider the costs of any hardware, litigation software, and billing software you need, security software, yearly fees for your Bar association, and groups you want to join for contacts and expert location. Plan ahead and budget.

Hi guys, I am looking for a change after 11 years serving in the current organization. I have total 13 yrs exp. with only 13 LPA as I am in the same organization and didn't switch. With EY in the HR discussion they stated 19.4 LPA fixed, but I requested for 20 LPA fixed (though the difference is not much). The HR stated they may need to take approvals and the call ended. Do you know whether they will come back? How many days usually it takes HR to come back? It's the 3rd day almost.

Hey all, transitioned from the military last spring and got a UX product manager position at a bank.

Pay is good, but missing the mission aspect of work. Have interview offers from Microsoft and Amazon for cleared PM work, but most of them are less product manager work and more adjacent program work.

This might just be grass is greener thinking, but would love to hear if you have made the transition if you enjoy cleared PM work or do you wish you stayed in the non-cleared space?
