Happy pride month! 🏳️🌈
My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

I’m 35 in a couple months and have about $160k plus whatever equity my house may bring, if any. Only because you asked, if I only had $20k at 37 I’d be very concerned for my future.
I’m turning 36 this year and have approximately $615k saved across all accounts, excluding any potential equity from my house. My wife is stay-at-home, and we have two children.
20k is less than what you can contribute to your 401k this year alone.
The good news is you've got about 20+ years until you retire, so you can definitely make up for some of that lost time.
Good news…at your rate you’ll have about 40 years to catch up!
Fairly confident that $20k is low for 37 year old, however that’s not the maths that you need to do
What you need is figure out what you’ll need in retirement, let’s say $100k a year. So by the time you retire, you need your retirement funds to provide you $100k through social security and 401k (and possibly pension).
The maths to generate $100k from 401k alone says you need to have $2.5M saved by then, maybe when you are 65
Im 34 and I have about 225k in my 401 and about 75k in various other accounts (savings, CDs, etc.)
700k between 401k and brokerage. Just put 200k down on a house, so I guess that too!
Married for 6 months and we just bought a house! His NW post downpayment is about 170k. No dependents yet but hoping for it. Stressed about making sure we have enough for the future bc HCOL
$20K might cover a year of expenses, perhaps two, if your hone is paid off. But beyond that…probably rough.
I have 200k cash and 100k in 401k at 31.
🤣🤣 what's retirement? I am 46. I will be dead still working or like dead steading as a Walmart greeter at 100 my luck 🤣 just joking
Safe paths all 🙂
Max out your 401k and employee stock purchase plan. At 37 I had $1M between my 401k, Roth IRA and company stock. Im 44 now with $1.9M invested.
If you’re not maxing it out, increase slowly. I originally bumped my contributions 1% per year after my annual raise to get to the contribution maximum. Don’t try to do it all once. But the money you invest is more valuable than 20yrs from now.
get an IUL, it's tax free income for life and the returns are 10-12% year over year. im a broker and I can help you to see if you qualify or any other options you might have!
