As a previous server and bartender, that seems pretty low. However, It also depends on what type of service is provided. Full sit down restaurant or custom-made cocktail, should be higher than that imo. To-go orders should get minimal, if anything.
Usually 20%.
However, just recently we were having a discussion about sushi places where the food comes on the conveyor belt. You order your drinks on a tablet and a robot brings them. You check out and pay with your phone. In that situation why should any tip be expected?
The thought of tipping would never even cross my mind in that situation
Roughly 20%.
I usually do 20% and then round up to the next whole dollar
I pretty much do 20% across the board. My philosophy is that if I can’t afford to leave a 20% minimum tip then I shouldn’t be dining out.

20% across the board. Always. 25-35% for top notch service.
Have to ask why on earth people are tipping for takeout, there is literally no service involved. The host is handing you a shopping bag with styrofoam containers in it.
Simmer down there M1. I already said there's room for varying opinions on this topic.
20% across the board…unless I’m at a bar, then 30% because I want my tip to pay dividends in free booze from the bartender 👍
20%, 30% if the service is really good
About 20-25% for sit-down, $2-5 for takeout, and 20% for delivery.
I normally sit at the bar with my s/o, so 18% on the pre tax total. 20% if I’m at a table and getting more service. 25% if I have an exceptional experience
18%-20% for good, standard service for sit down restaurants and bars.
Tip what you can afford to tip along with the service you receive.
It is low. 20% is standard.
The standard in the US for tipping a waitress is 20% if service is good/adequate.
Wish the industry here in the USA can learn from Europe or Japan on how to provide great service without the customer having to tip
Depends on the situation.. i don't feel I should tip if I'm not being served. Take out and robot no. But everything else yes. 10 to 20%
20% for dine in, generally 10%+ for take out or other items (ice cream parlor for example)
Some places 10% is too high lol. Why tip for no service? Takeout, why tip?
Nice sit downs with excellence go for 20% ish, or a very good bartender, etc.
15% is my standard for a “meh but feel guilty” experience. 10% is my you “maybe brought me my food and that’s it” number, but often I wish I wasn’t pressured to give anything at all.
I try to tip 15% max
Which means you tip less normally?
15-20 if it is a sit down restaurant is norm ( closer to 20 for decent service ) .. 10 percent if pickup from a sit down restaurant.. I started to give a 0 in case of fast food joints that never had tips prior to covid ..
