This might be super basic but can anyone recommend a good fitbit model they like and find useful? I’ve never had one and the reviews are so mixed. I would like to know how many calories I burn in a day (with/without exercise). Don’t need any music capability and I will have my phone with me on walks (my main form of exercise).

FYI fitbits cannot accurately track the calories you burn. There are too many variables. Neither can Apple Watch nor anything else.

C1 you've missed the point. If I've burned 500 calories from a workout, I absolutely should be "eating back" most of those calories. If my calorie goal is a 300 deficit, with the work out, I would be at a 800 calorie deficit. That isn't my goal at all. You need fuel for your workouts and unless you're burning the same amount of calories for each workout (which would probably be another reason to plateau), your deficit should be based on a predefined number that you adjust periodically, not based on your daily workout. That's why it helps to know that I burned a significant amount of calories and can eat a bit more. Of course I'm not assuming my calorie burn or calorie entry is exactly correct, but that certainly leaves plenty of room for a hearty snack or extra half serving or whatever.

Personally, I used this approach last year and lost 28lbs.

And precision does matter a ton. If the tracker is telling me that at rest, I've burned 1600 calories, and then when moderately active I've burned 2000 calories, and when active, I'm at 2500. Then precision matters. Because those same metrics will be repeatable. I really don't care if the actual values are 1500/1900/2400. The point is that if the thing is precise, it is accurately telling me when I've burned more or less calories, even if the calorie number itself isn't correct. And it's not like it's so widely inaccurate either.

You're saying nothing is accurate, so I'm not really sure what you're suggesting would help?

I have the inspire HR, it’s small so looks good on my small wrists and it has the functionalities you are looking for

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

For those of you who had an allergic reaction to the COVID vaccine, how did you get a vaccine exemption? I had mine last year, experienced vertigo for 3 days, but didn't go to the doctor (since it went away the 4th day). I checked the CDC website, saw vertigo isn't listed under normal symptoms, and cancelled my appointment for the 2nd dose. I had an interview recently for a hybrid role and they asked me how I'll get an exemption, since they aren't sure themselves how exemptions work

TLDR: Getting over your ex of 2.5 years ghosting you after they said they wanted to reconnect.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. The break up must’ve been like a 4-5 minute FaceTime because I was very distraught. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?
