How stable is your spouse’s job? Remember that L1 doesn’t have any grace period as the H1s do, and switching jobs is not an option
Could he not go back on an H1B to switch jobs if needed? Since he’s already cap-exempt?
Times are tough right now if you’re on an H1B. Even companies that have historically been “visa friendly” are only sponsoring for niche speciality roles.
Yea, this is what I’m fearing - H1B was already pretty restrictive in the past and I’ve heard anecdotally it’s only gotten worse 😓
Yes I did the transition from an H1B to an L1A. Its worth it because you can also then do the EB1C green card (the two are not dependent on each other as such but it makes a more compelling case as qualifications are similar). If your spouse has the international experience to qualify, I wouldn’t think twice.
You can also switch jobs as an L1 dependent but then your work status is linked to your spouse’s visa.
Makes sense but I would hold station and wait a bit to see how the EO plays out. It may all just go away and then it’s a non-issue.
