Paid off the mortgage last year, just have to pay property and school tax, which is less than 5% of take home.

Less than 15 percent of total gross HHI. We bought under budget 7 years ago and chose a place we could afford on the smaller of our two salaries. We both grew up poor and prefer to be as conservative as possible with spending.
