Depends on your job title. If you are a data scientist then you will be considered as an R&D hire, even if you are under finance, supply chain, manufacturing, testing, etc, cost centers. And will get hikes and promotions even without any results or contributions. They trust their data scientists to do magic with data, so double-digit hikes are common for data scientists, and promotions are quite frequent too, especially if they think you will quit and take away all the magic of jupyer notebooks.
Tip: You should keep throwing jargon at your leadership to succeed in your role. Every scrum call or every project meeting, teach your stakeholders a new buzzword or concept instead of showing progress. When they really demand results you can always blame it on data engineers and IT, and start applying for next job.
Don't compare your data science salary with those who joined before 2023; they are still hired on old pay grades and still struggling to get even 5% hike despite high performance.
No company give 20~30% hike every year. As far as I know, Juniper employees got decent hikes this year compared to previous years. But, it's still not the best I can say.
I guess very few. But generally hike will be anywhere between 5~10%
I got 4% hike . I work in level 5 .
Haven't heard so much hike y-o-y in any organisation maybe MAANG it occurs or if you are in a sweet spot and very critical to the company. In Juniper people are data driven so you will like it.
Hi, what is your YOE and department? Is Data Scientist 5 same as level 5?
