How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?

Has anyone ever done aggression training for their dog? Met with a trainer who basically wants us to either keep our dog crated or on a leash at all times and said no pets or play time for now. Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. Hi all, new-ish associate here at a Virginia firm - quick question: if a pleadings filing deadline for a GDC case ends up being on a Saturday or Sunday, does that mean that it can actually be filed by that following Monday since the court and clerk's office will be open then?

I received a job offer from a PI firm (MVA and tractor trailer cases) in Houston, Texas; the bonus proposed was 2.5% of attorney’s fees for any cases settled each quarter. We are assigned 50 cases a quarter and the top attorney clears $25K each quarter. This is my first time working at a PI firm. Can anyone share any guidance? Is 2.5% industry standard? Is it realistic to settle/resolve that many cases? I am trying to learn more about this niche before I counter-offer and attempt to negotiate.
