ouch... this may be a sign that you need to talk to your "skip" manager or find another job... you should not feel that bad when talking to someone that should be helping you progress.
Whenever something better comes up. In a good spot currently, so it would take a really good offer to make me seriously consider jumping. That being said, I try to not let the safety in comfort take away anything decent out there. Although volatile markets make that easier said than done.

Only if they don't give me a promotion this year
Every other week thinking I made the wrong career choice. I don't know where I would go. I used to like coding but never took it seriously. Current job is mostly engineering support for production with some design work.
When I was working in office jobs in engineering or electronics I would usually think about jumping ship after the third person was promoted past me, or every four years on average. Funny though, when I was a deckhand on a North Sea oil exploration vessel up by the artic circle I never once thought about jumping ship no matter how bad it got.
At least a few times a year. Work is still work and there are some tasks I don't ever enjoy.
