Rising Star
Easy call for us in Texas. Hard no. In 2-3 weeks, we’ll have good data. 2 potential outcomes:
- People are getting sick (and worse) at a much higher rate (we’re already running 1,000 new cases/day). Our decision will be validated.
- People are not getting sick at a much higher rate. Our decision will look silly and we will have wasted 2 weeks.
I’ll take the downside case that looks like being bored for 2 weeks over the downside case that looks like my loved being seriously ill.
We let our kids play with the neighbor’s kids but only them. We started a couple weeks ago after both families had been isolated for a month or so. We primarily only allow them to play outside as well.
I’d be okay with a play date at this point but not with 5 other families. That’s just too many people for me to be comfortable at this point.
Location is pertinent.
Hard no from me regardless though. My wife and kid haven’t left the house in over a month ... and the first thing they’d be doing isn’t the opposite of social distancing with several other families.
No way. Too risky and not worth it until we know more.
I like the idea of finding a similarly isolated family to co-isolate with so our kid can get some peer social interaction. As long as you are exclusive, right?
We've whitelisted two neighbor friends to play with. Everyone else is no go.
