I am being offered 26 fixed for 10.5 YoE in Java, Spring, MS and Oracle tech stack. This, despite my holding an offer for 28 (25+3). HR is not interested in even discussing a better offer and nor is she following up with me on what my expectations would be to consider taking up the role. What's the minimum role and compensation that I should be expecting from BofA for my experience and tech stack. Bank of America

When theres a recession coming lol
My concern is less about difficulty of work and more around moving/arbitrary metrics. I've had jobs where I was top 10% for production and QA, but got a substandard evaluation because my boss really cared about how many people saw me on a video call. Which of course directly impacted my bonus. Even when I pointed out that video calls has zero benefit for the company or client and that I was double the production of my average peer, I was told "too bad."
Another reminder these companies don’t care about us despite us killing it in our jobs. Also, some bosses are beyond incompetent, crazy how much power they have.
Consistency. I’ve done sales. I have made top rank in my region. But nothing compares to a consistent paycheck.

I work strictly commission and wouldn’t have it any other way. I remember starting out, though and the fear of the unknown got me! I have to remember that consistency is key and I love my freedom
It could be better, but it also could be worse especially if you’re just starting out and have to build a book of business/pipeline. It could take months to get a first meager paycheck, and a lot of folks don’t have enough savings to hold them indefinitely until they start earning. Unless there was an assurance for some amount of money coming in (or I had 0 bills and lived with my parents) I wouldn’t take a 100% commission job just because I’m too risk averse and the worst outcome is I make nothing.
Job security. Always hear about sales ppl getting cut. I get there’s a quota expectation but just seems risky. It’s a shame because I think I’d be really good at it.
