Senior consultant 1 is correct. You don’t need to refile your perm till your priority date is current. After 180 day an employer cannot cancel i140. You can switch a job and extend h1 on the basis of previous employer’s i140
You can initiate the process after 6 months.. and it will go through whole process.. of recruitment, perm etc..which takes another 6-12 months.. so In short it will take 1.5 - 2 years by the time you will have approved 140’from deloitte
Well. Help me understand this. I thought once you have an approved i140 and waited for 6mo, then if you switch firms it is only about porting your i140 to the new employer. The old firm cannot revoke your i140. Why do we have go through perm process again?
Yes you can retain the priority date but you need to through the whole process again
Yes you can switch job and have H1B extended based on previous 140. In order to Deloitte File GC for you, they need to go through perm and I40 process
It’s confusing. If your job code has remained the same then why the need for RE-doing Perm again. I can understand if you’ve made a switch that entails a job code change , change in R&R (consulting to product mgmt or marketing etc) . But if I say switch from D to PwC and everything else about my role stays the same....
Coz your previous perm and i40 is for previous company
