How soon is too soon to negotiate a raise after switching firms? I’m about to hit 6 months and, while I like my team, it’s been hell because the firm takes on far more work than we can realistically handle. It’s mostly consumer warranty def. so nothing groundbreaking, but the sheer volume is exhausting. I’ve pulled multiple all-nighters & am on pace to beat my billable req. by at least 200 hrs. If I’d known the workload was this crazy when I joined, I would have negotiated for more.

Anyone else have a need to exercise daily? A lot of people judge me in a negative way and in reality it is because my ADHD brain needs it. 1) the consistency for schedule 2) exercise can help tone down the symptoms before I sit down for the work day 3) it is the only thing I can control to make it look like I am not a mess (disorganization, interrupting) - basically trying to stay in the game at work based on perception of “having it together”. Just wondering if anyone faces the challenges.

Any recommendations for a coach (or even therapist) to help work through some career issues?

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Working at a boutique transactiona firm. First year did not receive much guidance and made a few errors, one of which could have been a deal but ended up being fine but overall I worked hard, billed hours above target and showed a willingness to learn. Three main partners in the group. I feel like I may have been written off by the one partner, still get a fair amount of work from another and the third has never really given work but has a rep for doing things alone or using seniors.
