how to be assertive at work without drawing too much attention to yourself?

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

Hi all, question about a senior partner at my firm. He is constantly messaging me late at night about non important things. He went off on me about minor issues in a draft I completed. And while he is on a case with me, is always eager to pass blame onto me, when he has been working on the file as well. I haven’t had issues with any other attorneys at my office. I’m definitely ready to leave over it. Am I being reasonable?

How do you deal with a partner who won’t accept the conclusion you reached/recommendation after performing legal research and analysis because the client wants a different result/answer?

My unpopular opinion: more mid-levels need to be asked to leave. I try my best to be patient and get that juniors make mistakes and have a steep learning curve. But I am working with 4th-6th years who don’t respond to emails, can’t produce written product that doesn’t need substantial revision (basically rewritten), ignore directions/deadlines, have terrible attitudes, etc. They haven’t changed over years despite repeated trainings/attempts to help them. Is this true at your firm?

Owners are subtly racist and the men often treat me like their assistant. I also make a lot less than the male junior even though I have more YOE than him. Scenario for my tech tran folks: a collaboration agreement includes a termination clause providing that either party may terminate the agreement if the other party breaches a "material" term of the agreement + not cured w/in 30 days. The term "material" is not defined therein. The agreement includes mutual warranties.

2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. Help! I have had to use sporadic leave time at work, and I have had plenty of leave time to use. I have used it for medical treatment and a lot of appointments because a specialist is concerned I have a rare form of cancer & horrible personal things going on.
