Jesus. Why do you expect points for a delayed flight? Been Chairmans/ Exec Platinum for over a decade and have never asked for points for delays. It happens, nobody can control it, it's part of "the life". You will get a lot more out of the airlines by being nice and personable, using your associate reward certificates, and having a positive attitude than you will be demanding points for every inconvenience. The world does not revolve around you...
@EY2, no one can control it? Ummm... maybe for a weather delay. When it's a result of mechanical issues, poor scheduling, not enough gates, or a number of other issues, then it can be controlled and it's the airline's responsibility to do so (or make it right). Time is money and sitting extra hours in an airport/on a plane is a total waste when there's something that could have been done to prevent it.
Also, I'm not saying I demand compensation for every minor delay, but when it's substantial and has drastically altered my plans, I'll absolutely ask for points / refund / credits. It's a very lopsided industry when it comes to customer service. If your plans change and you can't travel, they charge you $200+ to change the ticket (for most fares). If they're plans change and force you not to travel, similar compensation should be provided to the passenger. It's a out leveling the playing field.
I'm so sorry if the career you chose where you know you will be on the road all the time has "altered your plan". Can't control weather, mechanical failures, pilots calling in sick. It is just life. If you don't like it choose another airline or choose another profession. Stop bitching to the world about your minor inconveniences. This is why your generation gets such a bad rap. #suckitup
@EY2 you're completely missing the point, but it sounds like you're the type of person who just rolls over and gives in to whatever's handed to you (as I'm sure you've done with your salary negotiations at EY).
I think you are missing the point. The rest of the world has to deal with this. Why are you so special that you deserve compensation? Oh Boo boo! I was inconvenienced!!! Somebody pay me!!! I don't roll over. I treat people with respect and demand respect in return. But I also have the maturity to know when things are out of people's control and act accordingly. You would be wise to do the same.
The point is that you end over backward for the airline (pick one), are required to compensate them if your plans change, but then ask for nothing in return if they forcefully change your plans / disrupt your plans. It's not a boohoo situation, I'll be just fine. It's about fairness.
*bend over backwards
No you are whining over nothing. Buy your ticket, hope it leaves on time, understand that 20% of time it doesn't, and don't be a whiny little child when it happens. We all have to deal with this shit. Either deal or find a new job.
@EY2 I value personal time much more than I value firm time. Sounds like you have no life outside work... that must suck.
@Accenture1 pass popcorn over Bro
Are you elite? I usually just call the exec plat desk, but the last couple times they've asked me to fill out an online form, which isn't worth the time.
Not yet it's hell lot difficult to get elite and I hate their challenges. You have to pay to challenge a challenge makes no sense.
Don't we have a corporate challenge / match option? Check the travel and meetings CHS... there's a link for special offers in one of the header tabs.
@EY do you guys have a challenge/status match for Delta?
@KPMG1 typically. Not sure if it's active yet this year.
Luckily most of my travel is for personal pleasure, so it's not really about work 😉
Then you REALLY have nothing to bitch about.
🍿
Btw I life the rule of "worst thing they fan do is say no" so I'll ask if they give me something treat if not I open my laptop and get some work done and carry on with my day.
