From what I’ve seen your best bet is to get a job in your home country with a company that has a presence in NYC, and asking them for an internal transfer (L-1 visa).
Tough timing right now, my friend. Most US agencies are feeling the squeeze. Layoffs are common, budgets are tight, and sponsorships are even harder to come by. Also, NYC’s ad scene is heavily pharma focused these days. Is that a space you’re open to exploring?
1) apply for a masters degree - finish your degree - get OPT
2) get a job with a US company in your country - wait a year - ask them to transfer you through L1 visa
Other options unlikely
3) come to the US - get busy and find the one - get green card
Best bet is to do mba program in the US and hope to get internship through that followed by full time offer
Right now is the wrong time to be looking for that... Unless you're literally in the top 1% of your field and will to accept a rock bottom salary... better to look within your own country right now and wait out the storm.
Agree with M1 and M2 above, L-1 transfer through my employer was how I came to NYC in 2015. I reckon it’s much harder now though compared to 2015.
