Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Why do you think a product manager doesn’t need to talk and please others?
Former startup product manager and have a lot of friends who are PMs, introverts make some of the best PMs (not product marketing managers); look it up. There is caveat though in that you do need to be OK with days where you will be talking and listening to people all day. That is something that introverts are good at. Introverts are typically great listeners, that is the most important part, listen to the customer, listen to engineering team, etc. Based on your OP however it doesn't seem like something you'd enjoy, there is a lot of people pleasing. It's actually the majority of your job, ensuring there are no blockers on the team.
Well, product management is also highly dependent on working with people - influencing, connecting, prioritization, negotiating trade-offs, etc. If you don’t like working with people I would take a closer look. Maybe join a meetup or find some way to network with someone doing it?
Edit: ^ they beat me to it. What they said.
I really enjoyed working with clients and delivering projects. But felt the travelling and late nights / early mornings was taking its toll on me. Was a consultant for 4 years. Moved internally , no travelling. I miss the client interactions the most.
Introversion != bad manager in consulting
I am also a massive introvert and they promoted me... Don’t sell yourself short; it’s not about politics or people pleasing. Just deliver the work and you will do it
I am an introvert too. Being introverted does not prevent you from learning to talk to others. Pleasing superiors is a skill highly recommendable no matter what your profession is.
Message me.
Huge introvert, hate speaking in public, and I’ve made it this far. Go at your own pace and find what works for you, be it in consulting or not.
Become an engineer then, perfect role for people who don’t like talking.
I am 6+ years out of school, don’t think I can get the technical skills needed. Any other professions?
Not sure why you’re bring That Hoe Over There into this discussion.
OP doesn't get it.
Any other professions that could be worth a try?
