“Hustle culture” is a weird way to spell late capitalism
Fair enough I can’t disagree there
As someone who hates literally everything about this job and feels the same, yes. Trying like hell to find my very specific exit.
I’m just realizing and getting help for this :( idk who I am outside of my job, which I do like. I’m in my 30s, and that scares me

I feel you my friend. I do! 2022 is going to be your year of freedom! Rooting for you. 🙌🏼
Kind of a dumb framing - we’re not going to die in a year, most of us will die in 40-60 years.
A better question would be: “is what I’m doing right now setting me up for the kind of life I want over the next [50] years”.
For many of us that will mean paying your dues in your 20s and 30s so you can have a better life for you and your family later on. Fwiw, I used to be this guy from McK, I busted my a$$ in NYC for about 10 years. It wasn’t always super fun, but now I’m in my late 30s, am happily married, and frankly have a pretty awesome and comfortable life. I work 50-55 hours a week, work out every day, own multiple homes, travel a lot for fun (sometimes first class, sometimes on a PJ), and pull in a high 7 figure income.
That wouldn’t have happened without some hustle when I was younger.
Why are you still working so many hours if you've made it?
If the job is so terrible, quit.
I used to work in a toxic culture. I was so stressed my heart developed an abnormal rhythm. This job had also been my identity since I was 18, leaving at 30 was tough, but there was no question on my mind what the right answer was.
No one is forcing you to stay in your job. You can quit.
If you're making $250/yr and haven't saved enough money to float you until your next job that's your fault.
