Does JPMorgan entertain counter offers ?
I have an offer of 18.5 lpa including bonus.
At the time of HR discussion, I was under the impression that this will be 18.5 fixed + bonus
I already have 19.5 fixed CTC offer from Emids and Indegene is ready to pay 23 lpa including joining Bonus.
I am keen to join JP morgan but I want to negotiate the offered CTC.
During HR discussion, HR said they'll not entertain any counter offers later on

McKinsey & Company I had a second round of interview with McK 1 week back but no one got back to me yet.
I only received a link to login to McK website where the status my job application shows “In Progress”.
I am not sure whether it takes so much time for McK to respond after the second round. Is anybody aware of this?

Usually it doesn’t matter if you bump up your pay or say you make more than you did. They can find out during the background check, but they are usually going to pay market rate anyway. If you are ever questioned you can just say you were counting 401k match/bonus, etc.
You may have locked yourself in since the company has a budget or idea of what they are going to pay. If your new number is above their number, then that’s a bit of an impasse.
You could always say, after learning about the role and scope of responsibilities, I would like for the salary to be XYZ.
Personally, I’d expect the company to come in at a ballpark range appropriate for your market. I’m interviewing now and tell recruiters that I want at least $75k since that’s my current pay. Most recruiters are presenting me at $95k since the range in my market is $90-105k.
