Take the leave; clients come and go. You are about to go through an amazing but also overwhelming change in your life. Give yourself the gift of time.
Coming back 2 months after baby is born is very soon. Make sure that you’ve got the right support (eg who’s looking after baby when you’re working, how do you plan to feed the baby, etc)
At 2 months post birth, the baby will likely be waking up every 3 hours to feed, change diapers and go back to sleep (which can often take a lot of time). If you’re going back to work, you need to ensure that you’ve got someone that can help you do that 24/7 as the baby will wake up every 3 hours and if you plan to do the night shift, you won’t get any rest.
This is key. Sure, clients come and go, but having a newborn is full-time work. At 8 weeks postpartum the baby is unlikely to be on a consistent schedule, sleeping through the night, or able to calmly hang out if awake. It'll be chaos unless you've got a significant amount of help.
Take the time for you. Jobs come and go but your health and your family are more important. Additionally, if your company doesn’t support this, that also sends a clear message on where their priorities lie. (Ps join the moms in consulting bowl, too!)
I would muscle through and take the leave postpartum. Seeing baby grow and learn will be so much more rewarding than chilling out solo for a few months.

Focus on the baby. Clients come and go. 8 weeks is way too little IMO. 12 months is typical where I live (UK). I, as a dad, took 5. One of the best decisions I ever made.

For women yes. Not all full pay. At ACN it is 39 weeks.
We have a shared parental leave model where the couple share 52 weeks off. My wife took 7 months.

Take the leave. Work will always be there.
