I don’t like these things, it’s like if you will tell you are moving to Texas they will be like you’ll get a pay cut due to low cost of living but if you move high col like California they will say you are moving on your own so we won’t adjust your salary.

You say PA - is this with salesforce? Or deloitte?

With the new pay bands, which they won't tell anyone (but I'm told they are wide), my understanding is that if your current salary exists at your level and new band, they don't have to give you an increase. In other words, if you're near the top of level 7 C and you move to B, you might be near the bottom of B but you're still in range. I don't think that's fair, or prudent in the current job marketplace, but it is what it is. And your direct manager doesn't have the final say, likely a combination of your VP + ES.
hi, former pa director here and you should talk to your manager about it bc none of the advice posted here reflects our comp policies
If you move to a lower COL geo, you'll get adjusted down. However, depending on how valuable you are and how big the gap is, you can try to threaten to leave if you get adjusted down (make sure you are ready to leave if they call your bluff). Do note that going forward you'll be stuck in the paybands of the new geo for raises and promotions so likely your next raise will be something like 0-2% and promotion <10%
Is it to a geo in a higher pay band?
Yes. One level higher

If you throw in level and numbers ppl would be able to answer more efficiently
Did the company ask you to move or have you made this decision on your own? Have you talked to the PPMD in the new location and do they support your move as a benefit to the office?
