There is a lot to consider because they are both so different. I honestly still like Facebook but thats just my old-school way and what I am most familiar with but I heard Discord is great for us community managers.Communication: Discord is primarily designed for real-time communication, while Facebook Groups tend to be more focused on asynchronous communication. This means that Discord may be a better option if you want to facilitate real-time discussions, voice chats, and video calls, while Facebook Groups may be better suited for more traditional discussion threads and longer-form posts.
Community Management: Discord allows for more granular control over roles and permissions, which can be helpful for managing a large and active community. Facebook Groups are generally easier to moderate, as they have built-in moderation features, such as post approvals and member bans.
Features: Discord offers a wide range of features, including custom emotes, bots, and integrations with other platforms, while Facebook Groups are more limited in terms of customization and integrations.
Privacy: Facebook Groups allow you to control who can see and join your group, while Discord servers are public by default. This means that if you want to keep your community more private, Facebook Groups may be a better option.
Discord is better for real-time communication, whereas Facebook is better for team members who may be checking in periodically as they can. I've found that using Discord for discussions throughout the day works best, and other aspects of the community work better on Facebook - ongoing discussions, etc.
