I am currently a tax manager in public accounting considering making the jump to industry. Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has made the transition - workload/compensation/work-life balance

This will depend on the firm you are joining.

I left and got a small salary bump as I was on top of my range as is but I had the company go above what their listed range was in their job posting plus a signing bonus. My bonus is pretty high as it can be as high as 50% of my salary on top of some stock comp. Pto is similar to what I had at Crowe from what I normally took. But hours are much less. My total hours worked/pto is right around 2k. I don’t work weekends or over 8 hours outside of a week at the end of each Q and maybe a few days during Ye because we keep changing pretax. It’s been pretty good.

The bonus range I wouldn’t count on many industry jobs to go that high as my company does. 20-30% would be the high end for most firms I think. And signing bonuses atm might be hard to get as well.

This was by far the most interesting wine cellar I have ever seen. It's not temperature controlled because the caves in Cappadocia remain chilled even when the temperature outside is over 40゚C!

I interviewed at KPMG on 11/14 and got a verbal offer the next day but since then waiting to hear from them. Been following up continuously but the partners are not replying it seems. In the meanwhile i have an offer from BT offering 90k for 4 yrs of experience which seems to be fair. I am just unsure whether to accept the offer as I was waiting for kpmg reply as I want B4 on my resume which apparently is a big deal. Is BT also good on resume for future employers ??

I have an accounting degree and am looking for something where I spend most of my time using excel. Surprisingly, audit —at least at my company— doesn’t really do that. Any suggestions would be helpful.
