I pivoted out of insurance into nursing. But I'm able to use my health/Medicare insurance background in case management. Is that an option for you?
Not necessarily a nursing degree, but definitely a Case Manager certification.
Hello, Thank you for sharing your question. It’s completely understandable to feel stuck when you want out of an industry, even when you’re good at it. As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you already have strong transferable skills like client management, relationship building, problem-solving, and communication, these are valuable in fields like HR, customer success, operations, or even tech. To pivot, try reframing your resume to focus on those skills rather than insurance-specific tasks, and engage more on platforms like LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your target fields.
When I faced a similar challenge, I reached out to a team at alfredpetersonhiringteam/gmail/com. They helped me reposition my experience and explore better-fit opportunities. With their support, I was able to land a role as a human resources manager. It might be worth connecting with them as well. Wishing you the best as you make your transition!
I know how you feel I’m facing the same dilemma. I’m trying to pivot into something totally different but I feel like I’ve boxed myself in because I’ve been in veterinary medicine for most 24yrs. It’s hard to find an employer that’s willing to give a chance on something new. So I don’t know what to do at this point.
