I am from Deloitte S&O and I feel the longer I stay here, the more detrimental it is going to become because of the pretty mundane long term projects, negligible overall business or industry knowledge since projects are more tactical than strategical and lack of career growth opportunities especially from M level. Anyone else feel the same way?

Oh wow never knew people were unhappy with work in S&O as well. When asked what service line you work in people behave as if they are curing cancer.

Fair enough.. I understood the reality and that's why told in one of the comments that it's fine now. Thank you for your thoughts.. Really helpful

Thats true.. best strategy is to leave at M1

I think you can move to boutique consulting firms like Redseer, Auctus advisors, Acuvon, where there’s a growth and people recognise your manager experience too. Another way could be move to the industry you’re specialised in.

DI or USI?

You are right. However, it’s not about work. You might still do some good work at M. But the growth stops. The firm can only have so many SM/Ds since at USI we don’t sell. Unlike in US where if you meet your targets - you pretty much keep growing.

Don’t know who needs to hear this, but today is going to be a great day! For the things out of your control: remember you can't control them any more than you make make the sun risen or make it set. For the things you can control: work hard, stay focused, and do your best. Take a few deep breaths, smile, and remember, you're a badass and a winner. Out of the millions of sperm, you won. You got this!
