Start with LinkedIn and apply. Good luck lol
Not trying to discourage you from the goal of an in-house role, but I’ve found in-house roles to be especially challenging to find in SEO because most companies aren’t willing to pay a fair wage for an SEO expert. An agency is almost always cheaper.
Additionally, when I interviewed for a few in-house roles, I quickly found out that I would be the only person doing SEO. So the workload was not realistic.
Just be skeptical when interviewing.
I am an in-house SEO for the past 3 years on a big B2C corp. I got the job at LinkedIn. We hired a few people over the years and we always find them on LinkedIn or from a referral. We usually value past experience as in-house for B2B or B2C company, but we hired SEOs with agency experience as well. The most important thing is networking (if you are able to connect with someone from the team or company) to be able to get your resume in our hands . After a very basic resume screening, the most important thing is the assignment and presentation/interview. At this point we usually don't care what your background is.
LinkedIn. What city are you in? Tell us the most recent work you did.
Oh, be aware that several analyst/specialist positions on big corps are actually equivalent to management positions on smaller companies (you'll own the strategy, or an entire portfolio, but will not manage a team, so they don't put manager in the title). Make sure to read the job post before deciding if you want to apply or not, do not filter by the title
