Can someone tell me what the current methods are to get SEO clients?

I’ve tried cold mailing, cold calls, contact form submissions, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc, but still no luck.

I would really appreciate the help!

Referral networks with existing clients. Checking local job boards/craigslist.

Most businesses will get deluged by cold. Calls. Heck, I get *so* many pitches on LI asking if I need to buy backlinks and I'm an AD Technical SEO for an agency.

Depends on your market but honestly going offline might be worth a look. Is there a niche you're focused on? Where would owners/decision makers of that business go?

The problem with those methods is everyone else is doing it. No one wants someone coming at them out of nowhere especially when they likely don't have anything of value from the first contact.

Look at your numbersnij your outreach process. Os anyone responding to you only to fall off on the second contact with them? Maybe you're shooting too high when you should be looking at lower end folks? I mean that in a respectful way. I often see folks with little to no experience trying to get in with larger orgs. Not saying that's you but be careful with that.

As the Tinuitian (did I spell that right? 👀) said, try free work or at least find a business that is in need and usually doesn't have the funds. A nonprofit, even a well known one, is a great place to provide value and they'll likely take your on.

Curious what everyone’s been seeing from the latest Google algo update? I’ve been noticing smaller, niche sites start to show up more in high value SERPs. My hypothesis was that over the pandemic Google over-showed the large sites like NYTimes, Forbes, CNET, TomsGuide, etc in high value categories to make sure users were getting info from well-trusted sources. Now they’re scaling back and giving the little sites some love. Thoughts???

Currently working as an in-house SEO for a big ecommerce company (fortune 500). Currently earning 65K CAD. Contemplating a position for SEO manager on another company, SaaS B2B, very small office (<50people), pay around 80-100K. It's not a startup.

Did anyone made a move like this? From a big company (SEO team has 5+ people) to a very small company? I'm worried about job security and how stressful this new position would be, considering I'll be the only SEO professional there.
