With two years of work ex as Data analytics and constant upskilling from Coursera / Scaler towards product management domain how do I align and prepare for roles in Microsoft in the big picture atleast an year or two from now?

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

Why is it that when ever I look at “entry level” jobs in IT they always want 2-4 years of experience. It’s entry level that means maybe some certifications if they didn’t major in the field or a degree in the field. Not 2-4 years already working in the field. Can someone please explain this to me?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role. My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.

Anyone have actual intel on how comp (particularly bonus structure) works for mid level hires (vice president, director) into Corporate Functions (for example, legal, executive office, etc.) at BBs?

Public sites like Glassdoor are essentially useless for these roles and WSO seems to focus only on comp for client facing roles like IB, T&S, etc
