I got it after a switch at 18 years- manager position. U either need some godfather/mother in the company who support you else switch thats all.
At 15+ plus I got VP role but trust me girls male don't like female managers/ leaders.you will have to deal with lot politics.better choose peace of mind over title. Also with current market situation better be less earning you will not be kicked out.
Even I think the same, m 16 years experienced individual contributor and excel at work with high visibility to org but am stuck in IC3 and no promotions nor hike.
Am not sure if being a manager is worth it.I am a manager but if u ask me being an ic is better..no wlb after being a manager..too much stress
Same here almost 19 years exp still individual contributor. Also I don’t have kids n have supportive family but still stuck
You are doing great don't worry it just males at work do not want you to outshine them
True
I am 14 years experienced ,still working as IC. In this 14 years I changed 4 companies and 4 tech stacks. I have no interest in becoming a manager and would like to continue working as IC till my retirement.
What do you mean by IC?
