honest question: why does everyone hate Lewis Brisbois?

Just got on a new project and I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve been asked to lead a group of developers that are older than me and I feel anxious. Leadership has given me full reigns on project planning and managing my team. Didn’t know I would get this role so early as I’ve always been led. I also feel anxious as I’m the only young person on the team. How does one cope?

Why do some people get laid off and others not? Is it always utilization? Do people typically know they're at risk before it gets to that point?

There is lots of companies really taking a hit in the tech space. Is this something that people are nervous about? Many seem to still be having a hiring push but with the button falling (IMO this is still just start we have a long way to go to bottom out) will that halt and layoffs ensue? And if so, which depts do you think will get hit the hardest?

My SO got a job on the West coast and my company has been super adamant about people doing at least hybrid at some point (despite saying there’s not enough space for everyone lol). We joked about staging an engagement bc saying “my fiancé got a new job and we need to move” sounds way stronger of a case for remote work than “my boyfriend got a new job and I need to move”.
