I am new here. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a job in Houston Texas? I have over five years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Executive Assistant to VPs and CEOs. I came from a job (almost 5 years) that had no benefits, no PTO, no sick leave, nothing. Just a measly $20/hr while i waited on the CEO hand and foot. Personal and business. I have been applying, but everyone wants someone bilingual in Spanish and i speak English and Russian.

If stayed at the company but accepted an offer for a job outside of the department I was in. I’ve now been asked by a manager from my old department to apply for a job they’re opening that would be a 2 step promotion. She thought she got my managers permission to approach me (see comments)

Hi all! Has anyone had any luck finding a new job during this pandemic? I'm afraid I am about to be officially let go (was furloughed) and would like to start sending out my resume. Does anyone know of agencies that are currently hiring EAs/admins?

Any ideas on planning a quarterly retreat for a startup? Specifically for strategy day and culture. Never planned a quarterly retreat before and is not to sure what it entails. I’ve been told agendas for retreats are very subjective to company but would like some general ideas if anyone has any!

At what age as an EA did you marry, if at all? I find myself devoted to my career which leaves little time for a romantic relationship, especially during Covid. Hoping there is some balance to be found in this role!

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

manager assistants are 100 percent remote while executive assistant roles are expected to be mapped to a local office. MAs support six senior managers or associate partners while EAs support 3 partners. MAs should have 1-3 years experience to apply and EAs should have 3-5 or more.

(Context - trying to decide what title to recommend for EAs in our org who now manage people. Currently, we have multiple levels, but all EAs have the "Executive Assistant" title regardless of seniority / level / manager status.)

Starting a new fully remote role Monday with a leader that has never had their own admin, let alone an exec assistant. Any suggestions for developing the relationship or training them to properly use an exec assistant?

Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? With the scattered communication and a boss who hasn’t been as focused and can be hard to pin down, I sometimes think I’m giving 150% but something ends up lagging and I’m just wiped out. What are some of your tactics to avoid missed items and stay active and on top of everything through the Covid funk?
