Is it for me? . 🥺 👉🏼👈🏼
I start at the wirecutter for reviews then add in social advice plus google research. Wirecutter usually does well in framing what to look for even if you don't settle with their recommendations.
Amazon prime day is coming up believe the 13th -14th so ship deals then I bought the sceptre 27 inch 144 Hz model C275B-144rn for 185 in late April Viewsonic vx2458-Mhd is a good 1080p 144 hz 24” Acer xfa240 bmdpr 1080p 144 hz gsync 24” Aoc c27g1 just dropped 80$ to 189$ 1080p 144hz 27” but might take a month to arrive
Thank you, very helpful!!
If you want something super new and nice this won’t apply but you could likely thrift a decent set up from Goodwill / Salvation Army. If you get suggestions for nice ones check out Amazon warehouse deals and Newegg’s used section. Also I think you can request one from EY, but could be wrong.
EY said they’ll reimburse, but I’ll have to buy it on my own. Their budget is $175 I think, and I will need to get something with a receipt if I want this reimbursement

If it's just for work, honestly there's not much that can go wrong if you stick with a reputable brand (viewsonic, dell, asus, hp...). With that budget you may be able to do a dual monitor setup if you shop around a bit. I find 21in is a good size, but you can go smaller or larger based on preference
My mistake was buying a monitor without a VESA mount. Not a problem now, but limits my ability to expand later. Also, buy a keyboard/mouse. It sucks using your laptop keyboard and being like 2 ft away from a giant monitor.
On the standing desk: I went back and forth on adjustable height desk for a while and ultimately went with a tall table with a tall chair. Reason being that if I want to stand, I will move the chair out. If I want to sit, I will move the chair under my butt. Both items together are likely going to come out cheaper than a motorized desk. Search ikea for bar tables and bar chairs.

Whatever you can get for that price at Costco.

HP
What do u plan to use the monitor for? Working? Gaming? Movies/streaming?
In that case its easy. I’d recommend 1080p resolution, then whatever screen size you’re looking for. Any big name brands will do ie HP, Dell, Asus etc
Thanks all! Do monitors have cameras? Wondering how video calls would work?
Get a usb 1080p webcam for 35$ which is way better than 720 laptop one. Gesma is amazons choice best seller

Dell has great deals. I got mine for $160 and it’s great.
Also I have an HP laptop. I don’t need to get an HP monitor right? 🙈😂
Try to figure out what sort of ports you have on your laptop. E.g., If you only have HDMI ports, but order a monitor that uses VGA cables, you’ll need an adapter. Try to see what your computer has ports for, and look for monitors/cables that are compatible with what you’ve got. I don’t think HP brand is a necessity though.
