McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).
BCG final round interview in a week. Any tips on what to expect in a partner level conversation?
- how is it different than the round 1 experience?
- how important is the casing component? I'm doing pretty well, but not perfect. Friends have been eating me 8/10, with the need to improve structure and be more top down in my communication. I'm wondering what I can do to improve that in a week and if that will be a deal breaker on interview day?

I had final techno manager round which was completed on 30 Mar, and after ugadi holiday, on 6th I have received the positive feedback and confirmation mail and asked to share the payslips and relevant documents. Still waiting for the offer letter. Called HR on 20th April for the updates, she told she is working on my offer and it will release soon. Any ideas on this fishes?Cerner Corporation

Are you applying in the same field that you were prior to leaving? If yes, I would say that you should review your resume or have someone else look at your resume to make sure it is highlighting your best attributes. Also, it might be helpful to list the 1 year break on the resume and state that it was a career break for personal reasons, so it can be obvious. Thirdly, maybe try to leverage your network/linkedin for someone to recommend you personally.
The job market is kind of slow right now so hopefully it picks up in the next few months. Goodluck
Thanks so much. This helps. I am looking in the same field which is finance and accounting. I like the idea of Listing my one year break on my resume, because I feel a lot of them see my last work exp in 2022 and never call me back.
I'm sorry to hear that. It can be tough since you have a year gap from your previous work. Of course, recruiters or hiring managers wouldn't know why unless they call you in for an interview.

Would proactively reaching out to recruiters for informational interviews help OP?
Have you tried the return to work program? They have it at JPMorgan and a few others and it’s basically for women to have kids and come back. I would look into that and discuss that you had a baby and that’s the gap
No I haven’t. I will look into it. Thanks so much!

One thing you might wanna consider is tweaking your resume or LinkedIn profile to highlight your skills and experiences effectively. Tailoring your application for each job can also make a big difference.
Thanks so much everyone for your inputs and support! This is really helpful 😊
