The guy in charge of recruiting on my team must've read something about Google's interview practices, because he keeps giving silly brain teasers to interviewees to solve, despite the brain teasers having nothing to do with our work.

Interviewed for a sr. PM last Thursday. Was scheduled for 30min but we went to an hour and had a really good conversation. The questions I got asked I was told the answers were perfect by the hiring manager. I felt really good coming out of it but then followed up with an email thanking them for the time the next day and I never received a response or next steps. Am I thinking too much into it or is it not a good sign?

I recently interviewed with Natwest and I got confirmation that they wanted to offer a role. Salary negotiations were started. However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. He expects to resume the hiring for the role in Q1 '23 and would resume the process then. So is it the end? Honestly, I don't expect him to come back. But what do you think?
